Goldilocks found the one that was just right
What about you, are you doing the same gym routine you were last year? Are you seeing results? Is your performance getting worse / better? Do you think your workouts are just right or maybe too much? How do you even know?
It may be time for a change if you’re experiencing:
- Decrease in performance
- Elevated pulse in the morning
- Feeling unmotivated
- Achy joints, muscle pain
- Loss of appetite
Be like Goldilocks and try different things till you find the one that feels just right. Try higher reps, try lower reps…heck, you can do both. If you don’t know how to do an exercise, get a coach. Try new things, how about yoga…or at least the sun salutation when you get out of bed in the morning, it’s a great way to start the day — sometimes I do this pre-workout.
If you’re doing the old 3 sets of 10 reps, 3 days per week, start doing total body workouts. Is the 3x10x3 wrong? No. It’s just that there’s many ways to skin this cat and you never have to get bored or plateau.
The take-a-way is that you need to TWEAK your fitness plan till it works…till it feels just right.
