Not so fast!
Way too many people try to “Out Train a Bad Diet.” Most of us cannot do it — sure some can, but you’re probably not one of them so stop trying!
How many people do you know (you?) that have put the time into the workouts, and look the same 60, 90, 120 days, even a year ago?
Gut check
It’s what you’re eating! Finding the right foods to eat isn’t that hard…it’s really quite simple. The hard part is doing it. You can pick up a number of books, guides, and challenges that will get you to the land of lean and fit — check these out:
Here are some popular excuses:
- I don’t know where to start.
- I don’t know how to start.
- I don’t have the time to cook.
- I don’t know how to cook.
- I don’t know what to order when we go out.
- I don’t like veggies.
- I can’t drink water.
- I can’t afford it.
- It doesn’t taste good.
- It’ll make me fat.
Whether your goal is gaining muscle or losing fat, you’ll need to eat the right stuff. All three of the resources listed above are excellent. Dive in and educate yourself. Then just do it! Notice what’s working and what’s not, tweak it till it’s right, and keep a log. Being able to look back and see what worked and why is invaluable. Get a coach…accountability is a powerful thing.
Do This:
First, have an idea of where you wanna go — a goal of sorts. If you wanna look like Tarzan, but eat like Jane, we have a problem. Your goal doesn’t have to be in stone, who knows, it may change, but you need to have an idea or you’re just spinning your wheels. With the above resources as your guide, the “how-to” has been eliminated. Now do it!
Next, if the gym isn’t your thing and you like body weight stuff, do it. Depending on your goals, you can change the way you look with just a few movements. You really never have to lift a weight to get fit…plenty of things you can do outside too — moving in nature is a beautiful thing. If you like to go to the gym and rip through a few circuits, go for it. If you like lifting heavy stuff…even better. The thing is, most everything works…yes, there is good, better, and best, just ask if you’d like to know more.
Three Action Steps:
- Pick one of the above resources to act as your guide.
- Whatever exercises you do, learn to do them right. Get a coach, it will be some of the best money you’ll ever spend.
- Remember that consistency and moderation are key — this isn’t gonna happen over night, be patient — you can do this!
Have a Great Week!
