  • The Essentials

Before you push, pull or press something we need to see how you move. We need to get a clear picture of your abilities and see if your goals and life align.

The Essentials Program is an introduction to our gym and to the movements we use.  We want you to be comfortable with our workouts before joining the group.

You’ll learn how to increase strength and power, as well as conditioning, but you’ll focus on joint mobility and movement first.  As you spend more time in The Gym, your tool box of exercises increases — earning and moving  you to the next level over time.

In each session, we teach and review proper form and technique used for various skills and functional movements — and progressively increase your intensity. Each session includes a workout involving what was taught that day.

Proper execution of the fundamentals is not only a prerequisite to participating in group classes, it will also make your Fit2Play experience more meaningful and enjoyable.

  • Functional Movement Screen

We will introduce you to our principles and go through the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) which will help us:

    • Discover hidden weakness
    • Prevent injury and promote durability
    • Build balanced fitness
    • Magnify your potential

This sounds complicated, but it’s not. The screen is based on seven different movements and takes about 10 minutes. By periodically re-screening we keep everything in check.

After the screen, you’ll be guided through a warm-up and then put through a scaled down workout.

People think they’re in good shape or bad shape, but it’s irrelevant to us. What matters is your desire for results and willingness to achieve your goals — ya gotta want it and be willing to put a modest amount of time and effort in.
