Fit2Play, The Gym, is … this is more than just a gym … you can go anywhere and get a workout — we’re providing our members with the right coaching and individual attention they need to blaze their own path.
While most of what we do is Group Training, it’s “personalized” Group Training — all of our members are assessed and become proficient at the lifts and movements so we can focus on more than just correcting form in Group Training.
Our “Un” Approach to Fitness
The “Un” approach … this was fun to create because so much of what we see online and in commercial gyms is redundant and non-specific to the individuals’ goals. A program that works well for one may cause damage to another — Bruce Lee said, “Simply, Simplify”… I love that quote. You don’t need to become “okay” at twenty-five different exercises, simply become proficient in five or so — and then build on that.
Getting Started with the Essentials
We created the Fit2Play Essentials which meets 3x in a small group and is designed to introduce new members to the fundamental movements and lifts we use in our sessions. Each class reviews/teaches the proper form and technique used for various skills and functional movements and progressively increases your intensity. Each session includes a workout involving what was learned that day. This will also make your Fit2Play experience more meaningful and enjoyable. Fitness nutrition is also addressed.
How We are Differ
ent
Our “Un” approach goes beyond the workout, goals and the gym … we’re really building a Community, Tribe or Family of folks who all want to be better, today, tomorrow, next year and years to come. We have newbies doing their thing amongst experienced exercisers and even professional athletes — all respecting each others goals or path.
Ya know, this is a place where everyone comes to get it done … and while we all have different goals, I think the commonality is “commitment and community.” It’s kinda like, “kumbaya with an edginess”… does that make sense? That makes us unique. So does our initial meeting, the assessment and our training — we’re not for everyone. I mean, we’re not trying to compete with Lifetime, Metro Fitness or any of the big gyms and we don’t want to.
Fit2Play Community
I’d like to say, “everyone,” but I really feel the common thread is commitment to becoming better than you were yesterday. Also, we like to refer to our gym as “Raw.” I mean it’s cool and the people that become members are cool … it really makes the “getting fit” experience 10x better to be around like-minded people.
